About the Crawl
Attention all knitting, yarn, fiber, weaving and textile art enthusiasts! Announcing the premier of the San Diego Yarn Crawl, Sept. 26-29, 2013. This free, self-paced, self-guided tour of 8 San Diego yarn stores, 2 alpaca farms, and 1 mobile Yarn truck will take crawlers from San Marcos to Chula Vista, Ramona to Encinitas and many point in-between! The adventure runs Thursday through Sunday. The SDYC web site provides a free passport and a google map for you to print out. Special edition cloth tote bags are available to pre-order from any of the participating locations for a nominal fee, call your favorite local yarn store and pre-order one today in order for the bag to ready for you during the crawl.
Prepare for a very unique experience: get back to the “country” environment and experience two actual San Diego county alpaca ranches and then go shop for a variety of yarns, needles and accessories. This is the first west coast yarn crawl to invite local alpaca farms to participate. Each store will have it’s own special events, designers, etc. Crawlers will print out their own yarn crawl passport from the SDYC website, and have it stamped at every store or farm they visit! Passports are collected at each location and entered to win gift baskets filled with all kinds of yarn and fiber goodies. When you visit all the crawl locations your passport will be entered to win the grand prize a $500 gift certificate good at any of the participating shops and farms.
