About the Crawl
Attention all knitting, yarn, fiber, weaving and textile art enthusiasts! Join us for the second annual San Diego Yarn Crawl, September 18-21, 2014! This free, self-paced, self-guided tour of 10 San Diego yarn stores, 2 alpaca farms, and 1 mobile Yarn truck will take crawlers from San Marcos to Chula Vista, Ramona to Encinitas and many point in-between! The adventure runs Thursday through Sunday. The SDYC web site provides a free passport and a google map for you to print out. Special edition cloth tote bags are available at any of the participating venues for a nominal fee during the SDYC.
Prepare for a very unique experience: get back to the “country” environment and experience two actual San Diego county alpaca ranches and then go shop for a variety of yarns, needles and accessories. This is the first west coast yarn crawl to invite local alpaca farms to participate, then go shop at the other 11 venues for a variety of yarns, needles & accessories. Each store will have it’s own special events, designers, etc. Crawlers will print out their own yarn crawl passport from the SDYC website, and have it stamped at every store or farm they visit! All passports bearing 3 shop stamps turned in at any of the 13 venues will be entered to win gift baskets filled with all kinds of yarn and fiber goodies. In addition, those with passports stamped by all 13 venues will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from each venue! That’s $650 worth of gift certificates going to the grand prize winner!
